Course on Safety Assessment of Cosmetics

Cosmetics Regulation in Indonesia and ASEAN countries put the responsibility of safety in the hands of the industry. This responsibility can be carried out only if there is ability to evaluate the safety of cosmetics. The activity of assessing cosmetic’s safety is not a simple one, it includes understanding of many concepts and practising data evaluations. This ability has some basic knowledge as a background plus additional training in an intensive course.

Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia has been very familiar with safety assessment concept of any human intervention. We have a long history of activities, research and service in toxicological studies as well as in vitro and in vivo animal and human studies. Activities in dermatopharmacology in relation with the hospital is also a
part of our everyday practice.

Courses on cosmetic safety assessment has been starting in 2009. Starting 2013, we offer courses for colleagues from other countries especially Asia. Participations are open for whom already work in the field or new comer with biological/chemical background. Small group activities with tutors will facilitate best training result for each participant.

Hopefully participants with different backgrounds can share experiences
during the courses and a linkage can be build afterwards…
